Kantega XC2 just about certified in XS

Montag, 05 August 2013

kantegaXC2 webGood news for the lighties out there; the popular Kantega XC2 is on the verge of making it through the homologation process too, and is ready for ordering. The Kantaga XC2 family has already made a name for itself as a high-performance intermediate wing with easy and reassuring character, now even the lightweights may appreciate the performance gap.

The Kantega XC2 is a very broadspectred wing, appealing to both talented beginners and safety-conscious XC pilots. Long XC flights, even into wind, are its domain, but the general user-friendliness and fun factor makes it equally suitable for an after-hours boataround over the local hill. Regardless of your own personal preferences this is one wing that will not bite - and these things are no less true for the XS version.

There is a very positive test of the Kantega XC2 in the most recent Thermik Magazin - the German-language journal for free flight. For those with no German skills, here a short quote, with translation:

"Vor allem über den Außenflügel vermittelt der Intermediate exakt, wo das beste Steigen zu finden ist udn lässt sich damit perfekt ins Steigzentrum führen. ...Bei plötzlich einsetzendem kräftigem Steigen, wie es in Leethermik häufig anzutreffen ist, bleibt der Flügel neutral über dem Kopf und setzt das Steigen effektiv in Höhe um."

And now in English: "The wingtips of this new Intermediate wing transmit information about the best climbing rates very accurately, meaning the pilot will easily centre the best parts of the lift.[...] when sudden increases in thermal strength are encountered, as is often the case in lee thermals, the wing remains neutral above the pilots' head and converts it all effortlessly into altitude..."

You can start pestering your local UP pusher for demo flights already; the first wings should be going out in the next few weeks,
