There's no doubt that the very great majority of pilots worldwide look primarily at the EN B category when they start looking for new kit.
This is not least very visible when we release new wings in this category, but even so the interest in the new Summit incarnation has taken us all by storm; to say that ya'll love it is an understatement bordering on the ridiculous... We're stoked to be piloting this runaway train, please do keep the orders coming, we're trying to make sure that production will keep up, and we feel certain that the more of these wings we get out on the hills the more of them we'll sell, when the happy pilots' mates see just how good it is.
The feedback we're getting matches the interest the wing is generating. Our own Mads Syndergaard flew the Summit XC3 in the recent Nordic Open in Spain*, and had an opportunity to do a live-air glide comparison with a brand-new Mantra M6 during the comp. The Mantra was piloted by Lars Falkenström from Sweden, he has a blog where Mads' observation from this glide test are confirmed, do check it out if you think we're making it up. Anyway, the point is, after 6km of wingtip-to-wingtip gliding through active Spanish skies, both on just over ½ bar, the wings were STILL wingtip-to-wingtip. And Mads beat the Mantra on the final glide to goal too... So there you have an EN B wing which is turning out to be SO much more docile to fly than the latest, err, challenging designs from our competitors, and gliding EXACTLY like the latest-and-greatest in the classical EN D category. And Mads was on an S, compared to the wing Lars was flying, which is at least an M if not an L.
The image above was taken by Lars Falkenström during the glide comparison, Lars was kind enough to let us use it here. You can find the photo caption in his blog; scroll down a long way...
*) Mads did not complete the event since the admin involved in running it made actually flying in it too much of a challenge after a few days.
