Truth be told, not very many of these new wings have reached their end users yet - but one went straight off the production line and off to KK (UP Australia) for him to fly in the Bright and Corryong Opens Down Under, and KK has kindly provided us with his take on it:
"It is quite a lot faster than the previous Trango, and much more solid too. The somewhat softer tips which we know from the [Trango] XC2 are a thing of the past, and the new wing is much easier to turn flat - but surprisingly enough, when you need to stand it up on one tip to stay in that ratty little core, that is a piece of cake as well! The performance is right up there, and only the 2-liner comp wings seem to be having a small edge on me still. I did have a couple of big asymmetrics on it gliding at full speed during the comps, but as it turned out these were both absolute non-events[...]"
Another early adopter, Martin from Denmark, who comes from a Trango XC, just remarked in his usual laconic style that this wing "...is very easy to love..." after flying a pre-production wing for a couple of weeks in Valle de Bravo, Mexico.
We'll be expanding this admittedly rather narrow knowledge base as the reports start flowing in, suffice to say that one wing has already made it to Skywings in England who will be doing a full-blown review of it as soon as the somewhat fickle British weather allows. In the mean time, a good portion of the initial waiting list has already been taken care of, so if you order your new high-level EN C weapon from a UP pusher near you soonish then you should be ready to tackle the skies on it as the European season starts picking up speed... We think you'll love it! You can read much more about the Trango XC3 on the dedicated pages on the UP website - just click on the link to be taken there!
