Comparative EN A test in Thermik Magazine - they LOVE the Ascent 3...

Montag, 23 Februar 2015

Thermik Magazine does a number of very elaborate comparative reviews each year. They recently looked at the EN A class, and had the following gliders in for a comparative review:

Comparative EN A test in Thermik Magazine - they LOVE the Ascent 3...

Air Design Eazy, BGD Adam, Dudek Nemo XX, Gradient Brigth 5, Icaro Cyber TE, MAC Para Muse 4, Niviuk Koyot 2, Ozone Mojo 4, SkyWalk Mescal 4, Sup'Air Eona, Swing Discus, Triple Seven Pawn, and our own UP Ascent 3

They can't tire of stating just how big the scope is, even in the EN A class - every manufacturer's interpretation of the task of designing a perfect school wing is quite different, and each wing has its very own feel to it. This may not be all that relevant for the pilot buying an EN A wing, but it is a great advantage for a school putting together a school quiver for teaching pilots of different character, talent and disposition.

The Ascent 3, as all other UP wings, lands firmly at the high end of the spectre, both in terms of fun factor and performance. Judging from the reviewer team at Thermik Magazine this means that the wing could be construed as a bit dynamic for very conservative pupils, but on the other hand they concede that it behaves impeccably in turbulence, and also that it is a wing that doesn't get boring soon after one has concluded the schooling. They just really really liked it...

We love it when that happens, but we love it even more when our actual pilots love our wings - so do send us your feedback, the good as well as the bad, to info@up-paragliders.com - we look forward to hearing from you!
