I've been flying since...
I first tried paragliding in 1992. I have been flying since 1993.
Paragliding means for me...
For me, paragliding means a childhood dream realized.
My favorite flying area is...
My favorite flying site is the Alps. I know the Alps have hundreds of official sites and almost limitless unofficial sites, so the truth is I do not have one favorite site. I have flown all over the world and there are so many awesome flying sites. The most magical site I have flown is Lahaina in Maui.
My most beautiful flying moments/highlights were...
The absolute highlight of my personal flying career was just this summer when my 13 year old son and I did a 300km one-week, unsupported, tandem, hike and fly, vol-biv from Annecy to Davos.
My personal greatest successes are...
My biggest achievement so far has been standing on the X-Alps podium with Mauer and Hoffer in 2009.
I fly UP paragliders because...
I am flying a UP glider because of Franta, the designer whom I personally know and trust. A great designer means great wings.
Currently, the models I fly...
Currently I am flying the UP Kangri.
What I particularly like about the glider is...
What I particularly like about this wing that it has the best balance of passive safety and performance for where I am in my flying career. I fly only 50 hours a year, but I still like to fly strong air at times. Even though the Kangri is a high B, I have been able to put it on the podium at the first X-Red Rocks last year. I have also taken it on a spicy vol-biv for three days in Owens Valley last May. It handled the Owens spice quite nice!
