I met with Bassanta in Pokhara. Unfortunately, he could not help getting a permit to fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Military airports, helicopters, mountain rescue ... there is nothing to do. I will be at 8.11. take the bus to Kathmandu.

Habe mich mit Bassanta in Pokhara getroffen. Leider konnte er auch nicht helfen, eine Fluggenehmigung von Pokhara nach Kathmandu zu bekommen. Militärflughäfen, Helikopter, Bergrettung... da ist nichts zu machen. Ich werde am 8.11. mit dem Bus nach Kathmandu fahren.

Ich bin im Ziel, bin am Sarangkot Paragliding take off point (Pokhara) gelandet!
Now I am alone on the route, I'm going on vacation now ... because Basti has already started his way home. The weather looks good for the coming week .... there is more flying to be had! Since I did not plan the trip as a race and I also want to learn from the country and the people, I will take advantage of the remaining week. There are also a few very exciting mountains around me, close enough to touch. I have to take advantage of that!
Jetzt bin ich alleine unterwegs, ich mach jetzt mal Urlaub... da Basti schon den Heimweg angetreten hat. Das Wetter schaut gut aus für die kommende Woche....da geht noch was! Da ich den Trip nicht als Rennen geplant habe und diesmal auch was von Land und Leuten mitkriegen will, nutze ich die verbleibende Woche noch aus, da sind ja auch noch ein paar ganz spannende Berge direkt um mich herum, zum Greifen nahe. Das muß ich ausnutzen!
Flug Südl. vom Dalhagirimassiv bis Südl. vom Annapurmamassiv...ca. 35 km bei tiefer Basis um 3500. 1000 hm Aufstieg zur Hütte Coopera...
Have found a cool hut, with a spectacular view of Dhaulaghiri and Annapurna .... will fly to Pokhara for showering. Flying to the top of Annapurna would be difficult as the cloudbase is too low. I'm on the way to Pokhara, that will be tough ... base at 3500m and the passes are higher!
Habe eine geile Hütte gefunden, geniesse den Blick auf Dhaulaghiri und Annapurna....werde zum Duschen nach Pokhara fliegen. Annapurna- Umrundung wird schwierig, da die Basis zu tief ist. Bin auf dem Weg nach Pokhara, das wird zäh...Basis auf 3500m und die Pässe sind höher!
Im Dorf Dharapani wollen alle nochmal einen Gleitschirm sehen-es gibt Schul frei und das halbe Dorf geht in der früh mit zum SP über den Dorf...
I ended up in a village where a hotel consists of a kind of mud hut ... But at least running water and solar power. And good food. The Nepali are super funny and it is really nice here!
Ich bin in einem Dorf gelandet ist wo ein Hotel aus einer Art Lehmhütte besteht...Aber immerhin fließend Wasser und Solarstrom. Und gutes Essen. Die Nepali sind super lustig und es ist richtig nett hier!
We do not travel to Pokhara so fast ... now it's snowing!
So schnell kommen wir nicht nach Pokhara...jetzt schneit's uns ein!
Today, the weather has deteriorated massively, it is snowing. We are still separated. Basti is stuck in a hut, me in the tent.
Heute hat sich das Wetter massiv verschlechtert, es schneit. Wir sind immer noch getrennt. Basti sitzt in einer Hütte fest, ich im Zelt.
At first we were always together, but we lost sight of each other after flying into another cloud. I had to land north of the Bhalu Lek because the wind was too strong. Basti flew south another 30 km, so we were separated again.
Wir waren zunächst immer zusammen, haben uns aber aus den Augen verloren, nachdem jeder in eine andere Wolke geflogen ist. Ich musste nördlich vom Bhalu Lek landen weil der Wind zu stark war. Basti ist südlich noch 30 km weiter geflogen, so dass wir wieder getrennt waren.
Der Ascent 4 wurde ganz nach dem Motto entworfen; Fliegen soll Spaß machen und langfristig Spaß hat der, der sicher fliegt.
Somit vereint der Ascent 4 die in der EN-A Klasse typische Sicherheit mit einer ordentlichen Portion Spaß, welcher auch lange nach der Ausbildung anhält.

Are back out of "Africa", the lungs still full of smoke from fire on the floor of the hut last night, seems that chimneys are not common. We hiked through dense tiger country, literally, to the starting place. Now flying!
16.11 am: Got fresh bread and kohlrabi. Here there are no roads, everything is transported of foot trails. The flight today was not very productive, but exciting and beautiful. Now we have made a big fire, and will rest.
Sind wieder raus aus "Afrika", die Lungen noch voller Rauch aus der Lehmhütte. Durch Tigergelände zum Startplatz. Jetzt gehts zum Fliegen!
16.11 Uhr: Haben frisches Brot und Kohlrabi bekommen. Hier gibt es keine Strassen, nur Selbstversorgerer. Der Flug heute war wenig ergiebig, aber spannend. Jetzt haben wir ein großes Feuer gemacht, Schluß für heute!
